Quiet admin deletions
Version 1.0.150 · September 26, 2026
Release 1.0.150.
- When an admin deletes an account, the account gets no email and no archive is built. The account holder's own Delete Account still sends the notice and builds the archive.
Admin user list filters
Version 1.0.149 · September 25, 2026
Release 1.0.149.
- The admin Users list shows whether each account receives the newsletter, and can be narrowed to accounts that have or have not claimed a username, and to accounts on or off the newsletter.
The blog has moved here
Version 1.0.148 · September 24, 2026

- The old blog address now leads to this Updates page. Release notes and news live here.
Fixes from the accessibility pass
Version 1.0.147 · September 22, 2026
Releases 1.0.140 to 1.0.147.
- Underline, strikethrough and code blocks in the chapter editor are kept when a chapter is saved, and come back when it is opened again. A bulleted list followed by a numbered one stays two lists.
- Block quotes in a chapter and in an author's note are shown as quotes on the reader's page.
- The editor's toolbar buttons have names for screen readers, and reopening a chapter keeps its bulleted lists and block quotes.
- The Follow button says "Following" in its name once you follow, so voice control can find it by the word on it.
- The sign-in dialog and the newsletter form say when an address is not an email address, and the newsletter form shows a signed-in reader which address it will use.
- Claiming a username no longer moves you to the home page on a timer; a link takes you there when you are ready.
- The Delete Account dialog can be completed on a phone.
- The Change Username dialog keeps the Tab key inside it.
- Copying a chapter's link is announced to screen readers, and an empty reply or an empty comment report says what to type.
- The book page and the search results read cleanly with a screen reader, as do the author stats, which now say "Ratings".
- The selected tab in the header, on Help and in the admin pages is underlined as well as coloured.
Author notes around a chapter
Version 1.0.139 · September 19, 2026
Releases 1.0.131 to 1.0.139.
- Chapters can carry two notes from the author: one above the text, closed until you open it, and one at the end. Unlike the story itself, a note may hold links, so release announcements and support pages work there.
- An author can give three addresses on their profile for where their books can be bought, in print, digital or audio. They appear at the top of every chapter they have written.
- The foot of a chapter now says who wrote it, with their picture, what they say about themselves and the rest of their fiction.
- Content warnings are shown in one box at the top of a series, book or chapter page, grouped by where each warning was set, with a link to your Account settings.
- Anything marked for readers 18 or older asks you to confirm your age once, and never asks again.
- Text-to-speech is on by default for every account.
- Referring someone now comes with an agreement of its own, and the Referrals page says plainly what a referral earns.
